How to clean Diamonds?

Who wouldn’t like to have a beautiful, most precious stone in the world, Diamond? After all, a diamond is something which gets adorned every time. But imagine an unclean diamond placed to showcase. Will it reflect its original value? Will people love its shining & adorn it? Hardly is it possible. Not only diamonds, but different ornaments such as jewelry sets, diamond rings, and necklaces deserve to be cleaned every time. Cleaning, that too, in a specified way, holds a deep importance in value & life of any such desired ornaments of human life.

All precious metals need to be treated with respect, as they will scratch (even platinum). Scratches will be particularly evident in new highly polished wedding rings but as the rings are worn and develop their own natural patina or mellow luster these scratches will become less and less noticeable. Knowing how to clean diamonds rings, Bridal Jewelry Sets, necklaces, pearl set & so many precious ornaments will keep them all brilliant for years. Part of a diamond’s beauty is its deep sparkle, but dirt, oil, and debris clouds that sparkle and makes even a stunning ring seem far less valuable. It is important, however, to clean gemstones properly to prevent inadvertent damage that could void warranties or result in lost stones.

Ornaments & gemstones require routine cleaning so that maximum amounts of light can refract their fiery brilliance. Use a small soft brush such as an eyebrow or child's tooth brush to clean your jewelry. Mix one part ammonia with four parts warm water in a small bowl or cup. Then place your diamond jewelry or ornaments in the mixture. Allow to soak for ten minutes. Then brush the diamond ring or jewelry with the soft bristles of the brush while they are in the suds. Then rinse your jewels of the suds after cleaning them. You can use a small kitchen strainer such as a tea strainer to contain them while rinsing under warm water. Use a lint free cloth, or a jewelry polish cloth to pat them dry.

If your diamonds, necklaces, jewelry are in need of a more thorough cleansing, you may want to soak them for 30 minutes in a solution of half and half water and ammonia. Once they have soaked for 30 minutes, remove them and gently brush the mountings with a small brush. Then replace the pieces to the solution and swish them around in the mixture before removing them to rinse and pat dry.

Visit any jewelry shop & you will notice what significance ornaments cleaning carries. You will notice the almost unreal sparkle of metals, stones, and all other elements of the jewelry on display? That sparkle is one of the main reasons stores are able to sell a good volume of jewelry, for fairly high prices. This will come obviously by maintaining everything absolutely clean which is related to jewelry. For example, along with diamond necklace jewelry set for wedding, the jewelry trays also must be cleaned thoroughly so that it reflects natural, fresh shine.

Cleaning jewelry to an incredible sparkle definitely enhances its value in the eyes of your customer.
